There are several causes of knee pain. A chiropractor can help diagnose and treat knee pain issues. A chiropractor uses manual manipulation techniques to help alleviate the symptoms and remedy issues with the joints and spine.

.

For residents of Logan, UT, and nearby locations, LeFevre Chiropractic offers a full range of chiropractic services including knee pain treatment. There are three phases of treatment at LeFevre Chiropractic depending on the requirements of each patient. First, patients are provided with relief care, in which the symptoms of knee pain are treated.

After that, the next phase is corrective care, in which treatment is provided to remedy the underlying cause of the pain. Lastly, there is wellness care, in which the chiropractor provides routine care to avoid the recurrence of the pain. Here are some of the common causes of knee pain.

Common Causes of Knee Pain

Dislocated Knee: A dislocated knee happens when the alignment of the thighbone and shinbone are disrupted at the knee joint.  It can happen due to a car accident, sports injury, or sudden trauma to the joint.

Knee Bursitis: A knee bursae happens when there is inflammation in the fluid-filled sac near the knee joint. Knee bursae inflammation is most common over the kneecap, but it can also occur on the inner side of the joint.

Locked Knee: A locked knee is unable to bend. At times, the pain from the knee joint, triggers the knee muscles to spasm and contract. It is a form of defense mechanism to prevent pain. This is known as pseudo locked knee. In certain conditions, a true locked knee might happen that physically locks knee into a position.

Strains and Sprains: A strain involves an injury to the band of muscle tissue that attaches to the bone. A sprain involved an injury where the bands of the issue that connect two bones get injured. Both, strain and sprain of the knee can occur from different reasons and there are different levels of severity for both.

Tendinitis: Tendinitis in the knee happens when there are tiny tears in the tendon of the joint. It can be caused by repetitive stress on the knee. The tendon can get inflamed and weakened from stress.

Any of these knee pain issues should be diagnosed and treated immediately so that it does not cause further damage to the ligaments, nerves, and blood vessels.
